Isobutylacrylate
Description
Isobutylacrylate is a colourless liquid that is nearly insoluble in water and polymerizes readily upon heating. It contains 100 ppm monomethyl ether hydroquinone as inhibitor.
Application
Used as an intermediate for organic synthesis, polymers, and copolymers; monomer for acrylate resins.
Shipment / Storage
Store in cool place. Keep container (packaging) tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers (packages) which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
Flash point: 30°C
Boiling point: 61-63°C
For overseas carriage aspects of Chemicals, the readers are recommended to acquire or have access to a good chemical dictionary, and a copy of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code, issued by the International Maritime Organisation. Also consult the applicable MSDS sheet.
Risk factors
Flammable, moderate fire risk.
