Description
Motorised caravan-type vehicles and towing-type caravans are liable to theft or pilferage of contents, which may be valuable and readily removable. Contents should be checked, when possible, against manufacturer’s list, if available.
Special note should be taken of packing and securing and stowing of contents against normal anticipated transit risks. If the coachwork is damaged, allowing ingress of water, the internal fittings, which normally consist of plastic-type or PVC covering, can sustain damage from staining or discolouration, and the furniture and wall paneling can lift due to extensive or prolonged exposure to humidity, dampness or wetting. Electric wiring, particularly switches and contact points, should be examined for evidence of oxidation or corrosion.
